CBC, Hb HPLC, Urine Routine, HbA1C, Thrombophilia Profile, Karyotyping (Male & Female)

Technique: See Individual Assays

Technique: 3 ml. (2 ml. Minimum) Whole Blood each in 2 EDTA tubes. AND For Local samples: 3 ml. Whole blood in 1 Sodium Citrate (Light Blue Top) tube. For Outstation samples: 2 ml. (1.5 ml. Minimum) PPP (Platelet Poor Plasma) from 2 Sodium Citrate tubes prepared within 1 hr. of collection. Aliquot PPP in 2 transport vials and FREEZE. 3 - 5 ml of heparinized peripheral blood each from Husband & wife Specify brief clinical history on test requisition form. 10 ml. (5ml. Minimum) Aliquot of Midstream Urine collected in a sterile, screw capped container in fasting State.

Technique: Serum: 2-8C Plasma Citrate: -20C EDTA: 18 - 25C

Sample Collection Instruction: Preparation of PPP: 12 -14 Hrs. (Overnight) fasting is preferred. Centrifuge the blood sample at 3000rpm for 10 minutes within 1 hr. of collection to separate the plasma. Transfer the Plasma obtained to a clean plastic tube using a plastic tipped pipette avoiding buffy coat & centrifuge it again at 3700 rpm & finally transfer the PPP into fresh, clean & labelled plastic tubes which contains <10,000 cells/cu. mm. Must Record date of birth, sex, race and religion, history of blood transfusion with date and number of units, relevant family history on the test requisition forms. The checklist should accompany with TRF
