Technique: Photo - Optical

Technique: For Local samples: 3 ml. Whole blood in 1 Sodium Citrate (Light Blue Top) tube. For Outstation samples: 2 ml. (1.5 ml. Minimum) PPP (Platelet Poor Plasma) from 2 Sodium Citrate tubes prepared within 1 hr of collection. Aliquot PPP in 2 transport vials and FREEZE.

Technique: Local samples: 2-8 C to reach lab in 3 hours. Outstation samples:(-20C)

Sample Collection Instruction: Preparation of PPP: Centrifuge the blood sample at 3000rpm for 15 minutes within 1 hr. of collection to separate the plasma. Transfer the Plasma obtained to a clean plastic tube using a plastic tipped pipette avoiding buffy coat & centrifuge it again at 3700 rpm for 10 minutes & finally transfer the PPP into fresh, clean & labelled plastic tubes which contains <10,000 cells/cu. mm.
