Ultrasound for
transvaginal (TVS), is used to look at the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries,
cervix, and vagina, all parts of a woman's reproductive system. A probe is put
into your vaginal canal about two or three inches deep in this test.
This test can be done if
you have problems like unusual vaginal bleeding, ectopic pregnancy, pelvic
pain, or some types of infertility.
An irregular TVS test
can occasionally be symptomatic of uterine cancer, endometriosis, infections,
and extrauterine pregnancy (ectopic pregnancy).
